Join us for a reading featuring poets Sierra Golden and Laura Da’!

Laura Da’ is a poet and public school teacher. A lifetime resident of the Pacific Northwest, Da’ studied creative writing at the University of Washington and The Institute of American Indian Arts. Da’ is Eastern Shawnee. She is a recipient of the Native American Arts and Cultures Fellowship and an Artist Trust Fellowship. Her first book,Tributaries, won the 2016 American Book Award. Her newest book is Instruments of the True Measure, published by the University of Arizona Press.

Sierra Golden graduated with an MFA in poetry from North Carolina State University. Her manuscript The Slow Art won the Dorothy Brunsman Poetry Prize and was published by Bear Star Press in 2018. Golden’s poems appear in literary journals such as Prairie Schooner, Permafrost, and Ploughshares. Although she calls Washington State home, Golden spent many summers in Alaska, working as a commercial fisherman. She now works in communications at Casa Latina, a nonprofit organization in Seattle that advances the power and well-being of Latino immigrants.
