Social Justice Fund NW and the Fundshifting Committee of the Coalition of Anti-Racist Whites — CARW join together to present this workshop about how to give money in alignment with your values. This cross class workshop will center the history of the racial wealth gap, build a case for fundshifting as an essential part of white anti-racist practice, and provide a framework for white people to financially support POC-led organizing without reinforcing white supremacy. Light food will be provided.
We will be accepting donations at the workshop to cover the cost of the space and help fund grants in SJF's Black Led Organizing Giving Project. We recognize that wealth is unequally distributed in white communities, so we ask that attendees make a contribution on a sliding scale in an amount that's personally meaningful.
ACCESS INFO: There is a ramp into the building. The space is not fragrance free (primarily due to cleaning products); although we request all participants refrain from using scented products, and we will have scent free soap available. Location is next to light trail, bus numbers 7/8/9, and there’s free street parking. Childcare is available on request. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to accommodate other access needs.
