DESCRIPTION: It's here again! The annual community gathering of the original CEPHALOPOD APPRECIATION SOCIETY, founded by poet and science-lover Sierra Nelson in 2000. Get ready to share your love and learn some more about the Octopus, Squid, Chambered Nautilus, and Cuttlefish (plus special shout outs to the Kraken, R.I.P. ammonites) through poetry, music, film, science, art and more!
Whether you are a long-time fan and C.A.S. member, or just curious to discover more about these stunning and intelligent creatures, we hope you will come celebrate them with us!
This year our annual gathering will be held at the Waterfront Space gallery. (Thanks to Friends of Waterfront Seattle
for having us!) At the end of our indoor festivities we'll parade together with cephalopod signs and costumes down to the waterfront, with the option to visit some real-life cephalopods at the Seattle Aquarium
just a few blocks away.
