happens every last Saturday at the Monkey Loft. Diggin' Deep is known for showcasing the latest in deep house, tech house, and live electronic performances, with local, regional & international guest Djs & producers. Come experience the intimate vibe & amazing music which have made Diggin' Deep the # 1 night at Seattle's much-loved Monkey Loft.
San Francisco-based J-KIND is known for his deep, minimal, often funky, tech house and minimal techno sets. His diverse and eclectic style transcends many genres, and is currently focused on his burning passion for tech house.
Listening to a J-KIND mix is inevitably a deep journey through various moods, and listeners are guaranteed a thrilling exploration of various emotions set to relentless, funky beats. Whether or not it's deep, introspective, jazzy, urgent or imperative, your body is guaranteed to move to the beat once he works the dancefloor into a frenzy with the bottomless crate of jewels in his crate.
J-KIND's style is a derivation of many influences coming from the 1990's era: Daniel Bell, Terry Francis, Richie Hawtin and Mark Farina being just a few of the many creative artists that helped shape his passion for electronic music. His career started with underground raves and parties all over the San Francisco Bay in 2001 and has taken him to Europe and beyond. He pioneers many underground parties in San Francisco, including a ground-breaking residency at Bad Habits, Temple, Bubble Lounge and Tanil, as well as guest appearances with Uniting Souls based in Seattle. His underground bootleg hip hop, soul and house releases started under the label Unconformed, which then led to Phunkjuice, Back2dafront and Mioli Music. As he continues his quest for new sounds, you can be assured that whether or not he's spinning vinyl, cd's or using live instruments or software, you will notice what he calls «the beauty and power of DJ'ng — the ability to mix two tracks so creatively and uniquely, that a new song is created from the merger.»
J-KIND is currently hard at work in the studio, producing tracks for his forthcoming EP on Uniting Souls Music!
Brennan Buckmaster AKA BUCKMODE is a founding member of Seattle's much-loved 1-LUV Crew, whose bi-monthly party P.E.O.P.L.E. has become a Monkey Loft favorite. Buckmode's energy behind the decks raises the vibe on the dance floor, as he explores & showcases different styles across the spectrum of house (Deep, Tech, Funky, Soulful, Jack, Techno, and Bass). We're excited to have him play Diggin' Deep on this special night!
A skilled producer, enthralling DJ, and avid enthusiast of music, art & spirituality, Derrick has been a Uniting Souls resident DJ & event curator & producer since 2006. His flawless mixing style & passionate sets move thousands of dancers at the dozens of events which he is invited to perform year after year, including his long-running Diggin' Deep residency (every last Saturday at the Monkey Loft) & area festivals like Cascadia and Hempfest.
«Ramiro is an inextinguishable accelerant of Seattle's house community.” — Seattle Weekly
“Seattle house music institution DJ Ramiro” — The Stranger
As founder of Uniting Souls, Ramiro has worked actively over the past two decades to build community through dance music gatherings & artistic expression.
During his college years in 1990's San Francisco, Ramiro became an integral part of the Bay Area's then-bourgeoning, now-legendary electronic music movement, inspired by the creative, conscious elements of the tight-knit SF community (ComeUnity, Wicked, Sunset, The Gathering, Freedom, Stompy, Zendada, Kundalini, etc.). With the help of friends, Ramiro founded Uniting Souls in 1997, producing over 50 events in the Bay Area throughout the mid-to-late '90s, gaining a devoted following, and a reputation for friendly, fun, down-to-earth vibes on the dance floor.
Since making Seattle home in the spring of 2000, Ramiro has received lots of love from the community, producing & performing at over 700 events — including club nights, underground warehouse parties, art events, boat parties, park parties, and major area festivals like Cascadia, Photosynthesis, Hempfest, and Decibel.
In the first decade of the 2000s, Ramiro also performed at & co-produced the annual Future Funk showcases at Seattle’s internationally-acclaimed Decibel Festival, as well as at the legendary Magnetic/Kinetic event series at the Pacific Science Center.
In 2004, Ramiro launched the record label branch, Uniting Souls Music, which has featured several chart-topping releases, annual sales in over 70 countries, and licensing deals with some of the globe's top labels & services, including Toolroom (UK), Balance (Australia), Voltaire & Recovery Tech (Germany), Exotic Refreshment (Poland), Beaubar (Belgium), NordicTrax (Canada), and San Francisco seminal imprint Om Records.
Through his DJ sets, Ramiro aims to inspire connection and celebrate the special bonding experience we all share through music & dance. Ramiro’s mixes & sets each tell a story, working the groove & bringing the love, creating a space where all feel welcome. A seasoned veteran behind the decks, Ramiro’s affinity & ability to connect with the dance floor is widely evident during his sets & enjoyed by thousands of dancers year after year.

»UNITING SOULS has contributed to setting standards as to what the Seattle electronic music community has to offer on a local and international level. It is because of organizations like Uniting Souls that Seattle is a favorite stop among touring electronic musicians. With e-mail, smart phones, cheap flights, declining costs in music production, and the explosion of information technology, the face of the global music community is rapidly changing, but it is collectives like Uniting Souls that are evolving right alongside to help define and retain humanness in the often impersonal world we've created."
